Mutant Creatures Mod for Minecraft is a mod that modifies the game to add many new creatures into the game. These new creatures are simply buffed up versions of the original mobs of Minecraft.
However, along with this new challenge, these creatures also bring great rewards to the player. Each job has a unique item which can be used by the player when defeated, and each player can collect a certain number of these valuable items per day. A couple of the more common types of these valuable collectible items are the "Rotten Head", and the "Gilded Cage".
The Rotten Head can sometimes be collected as a normal mob, however it has an increased chance of becoming glowing when killed. The glowing Rotten Head will always drop more health potions than ordinary non-glowing heads. The Gilded Cage can be obtained much more frequently than the other two standard mobs, however, it will not glow upon death.
All of these mobs can be found in the Mutant Creatures Mod for Minecraft, however the most commonly known ones are listed here. Shcottion's Cube can be obtained by killing any slime. Shcottion's cube is quite difficult to kill, making it one of the more challenging creatures to find in the game. Another item found in the mod is the Mutant Cube Wall. This is used to protect the player from the more dangerous mobs found in the Survival mode. It is extremely difficult to get all the way to the end of the map without using at least one of these walls.

The mutations are both physical and in abilities. Each new mutant is now significantly stronger and has new, more powerful attacks. They could be considered boss mobs now and would probably work exceptionally well if implemented in an adventure mode game.
